I currently have 4 HD in my main storage PC for about 750 GIG local storage. I have my first 40 GIG drive split into two 20 GIG partitions with the first as my system drive and the other as an installed software partition. The other 3 are dedicated for storage with 2 of them being mounted under the first storage drive.
I have to point out that NONE of the data here is crucial.

you should hav multiple partitions for several reasons.
1 Security, makes it harder for hackers to get at sensitive data.
2.Isolates data from programs. You don't lose data if you have to reinstall programs.
3.Separate different types of programs, I like to keep games separate from office or work type programs, keep Halo separate from MS Office.
4. Separate parition for swap file. seems to make windows work better.
5. more efficient use of space on the Hd.
I have 2 disks with a total of 5 partitions +the swap partition.

thanks........

No it's not. if any of your drive get full only show you the symptoms like that. So better watch out without fulling it. And De fragment your drives once a week. It will help you.
