Notebooks getting hot at the downside is normal. btw, if you care enough, there is a coolent available in the market for notebooks that prevent it from getting that hotter.

IMO, you should charge notebooks/laptops only when they reach 5-10% of the battery power.

The only real problem I can see is that by recharging the battery twice a day, you are probably shortening the (book rated) lifespan of the battery.

My only real problem with laptops is that the parts seem to have a shorter lifespan than a desktop. If you want the full reliability of a desktop in a portable format, check out mobile workstations. You pay a bit more but you get a machine that is about three times better than a laptop and it has a great lifespan.

Nah but make sure to charge it fully. And also use the battery, not just AC power.

Depends on what size your powerbrick is. I think with the 1210, you should get a 120W, but it sounds like you got a 90W.

I'm not 100% on that though. Mine gets hot, but not all the time. It normally gets hot when it is buried under something.

hope this helps u..
thanks.....

Exercising a battery means using the battery and not leaving it dormant for extended periods of time. It is recommended to use notebook batteries at least once every two to three weeks to avoid dormancy. If you do not use the notebook battery frequently then you should exercise it before attempting to use it regularly.

If the percentage remains at 4% and you are using the machine then the charger is working. Two things to try Borrow a battery from someone who had the same machine and see if your charger maintains its charge over a days use. if ok then you buy another battery.

That is normal. If the battery charge is low, you should charge it. That is the way Laptop battery is designed. What you can do without charging your laptop battery if someone say it will hurt your laptop ????
