ahhh.... nice to know you too a Dreamweaver user.

We had discussed a similar thread earlier.

And yes man, Dreamweaver is THE BEST. Its one of my must have tools in my PC. I too have the latest CS3.

Btw, have you used Microsoft expression Web? Some people say, its a competitor of Adobe Dreamweaver.

As Said by Spec_tray
ha.. you really made me think spectray !

well..I believe people do use notepad when there's a minor editing to be done in the code rather than waiting for Dreamweaver to load for one small thing lol

In Linux, I write my HTML in KompoZer and I write my PHP in Kate (an advanced text editor). I am still looking for a great package for building forms in Linux...KompoZer does some form stuff...but it is limited.

I have spent about 15 years working in DOS and Windows...I have an MCSE for NT 4.0 and did support for a HUGE company for 10 years. Now that I have a chance to play with it...I love Linux! It is incredibly powerful....and it lets you do many things Windows does not (like truely hide yourself on the web). M$ just does not give you the access to the things you want to change. The only problem I have with Linux is getting some games to run...but I just StarCraft working under Linux and I have seen posts on how to get a lot of games working. As I am not a big gamer, it is not a big deal to me.

I have to change my answer to this question now that I have some more experience. I find it easier now to use Kate which is an advanced text editor. It has nice automatic bracket pair matching as well as automatically adding colors to your programming keywords.

I have found that KompoZer will often change my code to what it thinks it should be...and brutalizes my indenting! Use of a standard text editor is much easier now that I know a bit about what I am doing.

lol even I have to change my answer now. After using and being a fan of Dreamweaver since quite some time, I have finally switched to a much less sophisticated editor which is Wordpad.

I find editing my code in Wordpad (not Notepad) really really easy and I have become quite comfortable with it. At times, I need syntax highlighting, in that case I use UEStudio.

Now I feel really light after getting rid of DW, atleast I do not have to wait for the loading times. Its all about experience seriously.
