Default Eighty percent admit to downloading video illegally

Hi,

Before adding my first post I want to say that congratulations for this great forum.

Last week I came across a survey and according to that 80% of Britain, France, Germany and U.S people admit to downloading video illegally from the net. What do you think about this issue? I mean who will win governments or piracy? As you know, torrent site piratebay is a political part in Sweden and already won a seat in European Parliament Elections.

I don't think there is any solution for this as of now. Piracy of movies, games, and softwares is continously increasing. You cannot stop or control people to upload things on the internet neither you can stop them to download the same.

Piracy has become a serious issue all over the world and companies are loosing a heck lot of money due to this. Internet, in simple words, has promoted piracy like anything thus its biggest disadvantage. Sad but true.

I have read that in some parts of USA, the ISP's send warning mails to people who are downloading illegal stuff off the internet asking them to stop downloading or their internet connection would be disabled. This is really a good step to control piracy and downloading illegal stuff IMO but it happens only in specific parts of the world.

Atlast all I'd like to say is that, if products/softwares from companies like Adobe and Microsoft can be ****ked and pirated the next day of their latest release, I doubt movies video stand somewhere.

Even on youtube people upload copyrighted music videos and stuff. Lately youtube has put up a notice on the video uploading page, but still it hardly makes any difference.

And hey I admit I download, but sometimes okay.
