Its a big software. There are people who make a living with it and have already dedicated years in learning and mastering Photoshop. If you talk about just using the controls, then you can do it in a month or two. But what is required is the ultimate skill of creative designing (an artistic brain), which everybody does not possess. Start by immitating designs/logos etc, this will give you a good idea. Once you have some experience using the software, start creating your own designs, participate in online designing contests at sites like 99designs.

Whenever i have to use photoshop , i first see a tutorial on youtube and then try it . I learn this way .

No, Photoshop is not a very hard thing to learn it is very easy and very interesting thing. You try it and see.

Well, I would say it is not hard to learn Photoshop. If you learn the basic of it you could handle rest of the options.
