If you're talking about free forum software, then in my opinion it is really the best out there. By the way, have you tried any others ? like smf, mybb or some not free ones like vb, ipb etc.

phpbb3 is a great free software but I also think that mybb is very good to. Its quite similar in my opinion to Vbulletin. If the funds are available though I would always suggest vBulletin, Its the best I have ever used, Much better than IPB.

There are many types of free forum software like phpbb3 however there are others like myBB or PubBB for examplem, However on a large scale more users tend to use phpbb3 as there free software therefore there are more options for add ons to it including new themes or portals. Even so its what your used to as the user interface is whats the most important as you need to ensure you have full control over your own forum. Anyways phpBB is a great choice :thumbup1: |

FREE IPB  oh okk... just read about it here. But it isn't recommended as it is no longer supported and is full of security holes.
