3, coz i always prefer latest upgraded versions.. no matter what the cons are and it doesn't take time to get used to them !!

The Admin section in phpBB3 rivals most other forum scripts now, there are alot more options and functions and with the new template system it's very fast. I've used and modded a lot of scripts VB, Nuke, SMF, phpBB2, MyBB and phpBB3 would have to be the best imo.

Yea I am really lol.. Did it come across that way? haha.. I'll tell you what VB is pretty up there too and it has a few better easier function to phpBB3. One thing I hate about phpBB3 is the way mods are installed, also updating when you have mods installed is a pain in the *beep.. SMF and VB have got the idea with installing packages.. |

okay.. so you do not have plugin system in phpbb I guess, or you do ? ya its really easy in vB atleast, there's simply no problem updating vB when we have mods installed.

No not really a good plugin installer. All done by hand then a database update. Also phpBB3 hasn't got a very good portal at the moment, but it's still early day I guess.

I don't think there is a reason that would justify continuing the use of older versions of a software. Its a software after all, updates are necessary to meet the latest technology trends, fixing of bugs, new features, optimized code etc.

Very old thread but anyway, I just voted so.. I do not have much knowledge about forum softwares, but still like any other software the latest build HAS TO BE better. The makers of any software are not stupid.
