Default PHPBB3 Portals

PHBB forums are great with Portals where they show recent topics any new accouncements - The portals act as welcome page to the forum for any user that comes to the site.

Therefore i thought it would be helpful if there was a post about this

PHPBB3 Portal : The best way to get your hands on one of these is to go to

http://www.phpbb3portal.com/viewtopi...6ff39391c06f7c

where you can download the portal which you should install in your FTP.

PHPBB2 Portal : As PHPBB2 is an earlier version there is a number of poratls you can choose from. The best way to find out which is the best is to go to this link :

http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/portals-for-phpbb-20x/

Which is a thread saying the best portals for phpbb2.:thumbup1:

I installed the phpBB3 portal the other day to see what she was like, there are a couple of things I didn't like for example, The Admin section has only very limited configuration selections. You cannot add coloumns into the forum area. You can't swap around boxes.

And a few more I can't quite remember right now, but i'm sure in time when they expand on these things you will be able to do more, it's still very new remember!

Did you try Joomla CMS, I see there's a Joomla-phpBB forum bridge component available as well.
