I do not have any real experience with this but a quick search found a wiki entry for it ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nofollow ) where they claim that the use of nofollow should not effect your search engine ranking at all.

rel="nofollow" is something you put for links (internal or external) in your site to tell the spiders to NOT to follow those links while indexing the content. This attribute value exists for the ONLY purpose of preventing spam and stopping a spam site to gain rankings in SE's off your site.

It has nothing to do with YOUR site's rankings or anything like that.

Nofollow does not have a link to search engine indexing. Dofollow means the search engine indexes the links. nofollow tag can be used if you use the referral link is not indexed. Both are good human beings.

In June 2009 Google has given instructions to not use Nofollow for SEO. Before 2009 they noticed many Websites were following bad SEO guidance and screwing up their coverage in the Google index. After that Google altered the way it handles PR for documents that contain Nofollow internal links. You should not be using Nofollow for SEO.

No, this will show on your stats if someone clicks the banner, but I would not put a banner on a page that had a nofollow command on it as this means it will not get indexed on the search engines.

Nofollow provides a way for webmasters to tell search engines "Don't follow links on this page" or "Don't follow this specific link.

Some of these pages are seen by humans, but Google chose to "disalow" robots from indexing them.

Hi,

Nofollow isn't much of a factor in gaining relevance toward a keyword and increasing your PR has no effect on whether you rank higher for your chosen keyword either.

Spiders still may explore noFollow links, they just don't provided link juice, I'm guessing excluding the links page in a robots.txt file would be more effective a preventing pacing, at the loss of pr.

Hey...
As far as i know no follow links make no effect on page rank of the website,, But it doesn't mean that these are totally useless.. These links are good to increase traffic toward your site and make natural link building look....

Nofollow links are provides a way to tell search engines Don't follow links on this page.so its not followed by search engine,Nofollow is an attribute that can be added to links to discourage Comment Spam.
