1)Submitting site to search engine is useless as the site is only listed to it till any other site do not list there.

2)META tags don't affect your rankings. The search engines ignore META keyword and description tags for ranking purposes, for an obvious reason: Taking the webmasters' word for what their site should rank well for would be a pretty stupid way for the engines to rank pages.

3)I should focus on getting great rankings rather than making sure my visitors become customers. After all, it's not how many sales I make, it's how many people walk through the door -- or maybe even just how many people just see the door without walking in.

4)Instead of creating good and very useful post i would like to go for short and nice post.As they do not take much time and reader also do not get bored.

5) Also on the above point i will try to focus to get more visitors as it increase link popularity

I could not understand few of your points.

btw two of which I can think off the top of my head are PR and Alexa ranking.

I have seen MANY people (did I say MANY) running after all possible methods in order to get a higher PR and and Alexa rankings. I don't understand how it all got so much overrated. Ofcourse PR is good to gain, but not something that you would build a site just for lol. On the other hand Alexa is total BS. I even read somewhere that if you install Alexa toolbar and refresh/browse your site a couple of hundred times a day, you'll see a gain in your Alexa rankings. LOL WTH!

But seriously, if you wanna focus on something for a website, focus on building content and thats it. Treat Search engine spiders like living creatures that need fresh food (your content) to eat everyday, in return for better indexing and rankings.

This should be meta detail don't affect google's rankings. Yet it is still used for other search engines. Adding meta detail wont even take 10 mins. Why ignore it, take much as we can.

In point 4), Please explain what are "good and very useful post" , "short and nice post"

If the posts are useful the reader wont get bored, this is not a myth. Its simple logic.

SEO is certainly no myth, SEOs have the popularity of Search Engines for thank to the almost seemingly 'gaming' of the system of them, if there was no traffic to be gained from good rankings on search engines then SEO probably wouldnt exist.
