Here is another tweak.

Personally, I do not like programs that manipulate my registry for me. I always have a voice in the back of my head saying "what else are they changing on me". I prefer to manipulate the registry manually. The more I play with Linux, the less I worry about XP tweaks and such...but here are 2 of my .reg files that address my 2 biggest annoyances about XP.

The first changes the default wait time before XP will open a menu. By default, it is set to 200 milliseconds...which is way too long for me so I change it to 75 milliseconds...you can set it to 0 but this will cause other problems for you as you mouse over menus.

The second deals with the search assistant...I hate the new XP search with the animated dog where I have to tell it that I want to actually search for files LOL. I prefer the old W95 style search so the second file deals with getting rid of the animated search and reverting to the old W95 search assistant style.

These are just text files so feel free to open them up in notepad and make sure that I am not doing any other unwanted stuff to your system

Both of these files were built before the release of SP3 so I am not sure if SP3 changes the effect of these tweaks.
