I agree that bugs during the release are common, now Windows 7 might have bugs, that might be a reason why companies are not moving their step to get Windows 7 as they did for Vista. I like Vista for it appearance and speed, Xp would also be fine. Actually after vista release, XP sp3 corporate edition was released which was good and was almost same as vista...

Would you rush to Windows 7 after being screwed around by Vista? Of course not, Microsoft shot themselves in the foot for that.
Nissan, go do some research over Vista VS XP results and return to the thread, because I can't honestly see how you think of Vista being faster than XP.

@OP; Don't make the move to Vista at all. Steer clear away from it and it's pretty GUI, because that's all it has to offer.
You're better off going with Windows 7, the project did not see Gates overlooking every development which has allowed the developers more freedom to advance the softwares capabilities. When you get your 4GB of RAM, download the RC of Windows 7, and if you're a good-boy, go buy the license when it's released.

As for companies not moving to Windows 7; it's because it's still in it's RC. A release to retailers has been issued, and I've installed in on PCs already, but the product is still in its RC and is not ready for a full, public release.

Oh really? I wasn't sure on their release date, thanks for that. That means the software would already be ready for public release, as these next few days are probably just production and shipping.

Still, RTMs have been issued so I dare say you'll be seeing "Powered by Windows 7" replacing all the old Vista badging soon... at least you'd hope companies were that smart.

haha check out Dell's website. Vista is vanished from their site. They are selling Windows 7 pre-installed from today with the badge, ofcourse.

Both are terrible. Vista is bloated, XP is 10 years old, filled with security holes even still, and will no longer be patched soon.

Vista at least can play the latest games (DX10) while XP cannot (DX9 only).

7 is better than both.
