Hello,

I was wondering guys when do you think someone should get his own Dedicated Server (traffic etc...) ?

and can you give me a list of the types and which one is the best

You go for a dedicated server:-

When you think your site really needs it and cannot keep up anymore with shared hosting.
When it frequently starts spitting out errors related to higher memory allocation and so on.
When you start getting much much traffic and a lot of active members/guests.
When you have enough money to spend on your site.
When you have enough time to give to your site keeping other things in life aside lol.

Dedicated server hosting providers may provide the following types of server managed support:

Fully Managed - Includes monitoring, software updates, reboots, security patches and operating system upgrades. Customers are completely hands-off.
Managed - Includes medium level of management, monitoring, updates, and a limited amount of support. Customers may perform specific tasks.
Self Managed - Includes regular monitoring and some maintenance. Customers provide most operations and tasks on dedicated server.
Unmanaged - Little to no involvement from service provider. Customers provide all maintenance, upgrades, patches, and security

you should only move to a dedicated server when your site cannot possibly sit on shared hosting anymore without causing errors. Hopefully by the time you get to that stage your site will be making enoug in ad revenue to cover the costs of your dedicated server.

Well it depends what your internet connection is like, and how lenient your ISP is with other hosting servers.

Security of your site is another reason to look at dedicated hosting. In a shared environment, there is always the possibility that someone else with a website on your server will find a way to ****k into your account, exposing your company and your client data.
